They’re “full of bologna” this weekend in Yale for the 31st Yale Bologna Festival. There will be live music, outhouse races and fireworks tonight, and a parade on Saturday night all happening in Downtown Yale. Barb Stasik, organizer of the Bologna Festival, tells WPHM the festival started in 1989 as a way to celebrate the Yale community’s heritage and has continued to grow ever since. Yale is home to C. Roy’s meat packing, maker of the famous sausage. Tonight’s outhouse races begin at 7pm and tomorrow’s big bologna parade steps off at 6:30pm on Main Street in Yale. Stasik also says there will be live music and craft vendors throughout the weekend, a car show on Sunday, and all the fried bologna sandwiches you can eat.
