Yard sale trail returns to the thumb this weekend

Bargain hunters will be following the Antique Yard Sale trail this weekend in the thumb. The 3-day event begins tomorrow and features garage sales and antique dealers along M-25 and M-29, covering over 150 miles. The event stretches from New Baltimore on Lake St. Clair to Sebewaing on the Saginaw Bay and is celebrating it’s 17th year, according to event organizer and local antique dealer Mary Teichow. She says the inspiration for the event came from the multi-state US-127 yard sale trail. Teichow says the event has grown over the years and now attracts thousands of treasure hunters from across the U.S. and Canada. Antiquers are urged to practice caution when heading out on the trail this weekend. Drivers are urged to slow down and watch for pedestrians crossing the street. Teichow also asks antiquers to keep their eyes on the road, not on the yard sales.
