A Lexington-based insurance and real estate agency is moving forward with their plans to construct a new two story building in downtown Port Huron. Earlier this week, the Sheridan Agency received the green light from the Port Huron Planning Commission to build a new building in the 800 block of Pine Grove Avenue. Site plans call for commercial office space on the first floor and residential lofts on the second floor. Tim Sheridan, speaking to WPHM’s Paul Miller yesterday, says the project has been over two years in the works. Since the site was a former gas station, there was some environmental remediation necessary as well as ground water monitoring. Sheridan says construction is expected to start in the spring of 2021. The lot is located at the northwest corner of the intersection of Pine Grove and Glenwood Avenues. A total of four office spaces and five lofts will be included in the project.
