The end of the General Motors-UAW strike lead to a drop in Michigan’s unemployment rate. Statistics released by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and
Budget shows the November unemployment rate down to 4.0, which is the same as it was last year at this time. Researchers say payroll jobs increased by 25,000 last month, largely due to the end of the strike. The seasonally unadjusted unemployment rate in Sanilac County last month was 3.7 percent. In St. Clair County, unemployment was 4.1 percent.
