Michael Rassmussen broke a 3-3 tie late in the 3rd period on Tuesday night, as the Detroit Red Wings won their preseason opener 5-3 over the Chicago Blackhawks. Matt Puempel, Matthew Ford, Chris Terry, and Luke Glendening also had goals for Detroit. The Wings and Hawks play again on Wednesday night in Chicago.
